Meeting on the 3rd Sunday of the month (weather permitting of course, but the hardy amongst us tend to wrap up warm and brave the rain if it's not too heavy !) MWVG is a small group of friends, neighbours and interested parties who get together to carry out light, varied seasonal conservation work in Monkmead Wood's. Nothing too strenuous and if you like cutting down branches, helping to clear river banks or pulling a few sapplings, you'll have a lot of fun.
Aside from the actual work undertaken, we are very lucky to be able to call upon the expertise of both Horsham District Council and the Sussex Wildlife Trust, who regularly join our group (helping particularly with the heavy work !) and provide helpful information as to how our labours are benefiting Monkmead Wood's and the local wildlife.
We use this web site to keep each other up to date with what is hapening along with regular information posters that are sited at the entrance to the wood and on the West Chiltington Parish notice boards.
This is very much a fun and sociable group, so if you would like to know more or perhaps join one of our monthly conservation tasks, please contact Amanda Apps (West Chiltington Tree Warden) on E : info@monkmeadwoods.co.uk and we'll let you know when the next event takes place and what we'll being doing.
